Team Leader Neuropsychiatry

  • Full time fixed term position for 12 months in a leading mental health service
  • Deliver specialized care for neuropsychiatric conditions
  • Based in Parkville, Melbourne’s central healthcare hub

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

The Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN2) – Eating Disorders & Neuropsychiatry at Royal Melbourne Hospital provides specialized care to patients with eating disorders and neuropsychiatric conditions. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the role involves delivering evidence-based, recovery-focused care while supporting ongoing professional development in a dynamic environment.

About the role:

  • This position offers rich opportunities to develop your career as a senior nurse through the provision of both clinical and managerial leadership.
  • Oversee and provide operational and clinical leadership for day-to-day activities on the inpatient unit including significant role in access and flow
  • Develop and deliver a high level of clinical care & leadership
  • Support the Program Manager with opportunities for high duties
  • Contribute to high-quality care in a dynamic, specialized mental health service

 

About you:

Formal Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
  • Registration as a registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Desired bachelor’s degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing

Essential

  • Experience in mental health nursing – inpatient or community
  • Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Mental Health Nursing
  • You enjoy being part of a dynamic team yet are confident to work autonomously and assume leadership
