About The Royal Melbourne Hospital:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
The Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) program has been developed to provide support to individuals following a suicide attempt or after displaying serious suicide ideation, intent or planning in the RMH Mental Health Services (MHS) catchment area (City of Melbourne and Moonee Valley). HOPE will support clients for a period of up to 12 weeks, providing assertive and coordinated engagement via both outreach and clinic based therapeutic interventions within a collaborative clinical and non-clinical team.

About the role:
The HOPE and Engage services are embedded within the Post Discharge Mental Health Support Program offered by RMH MHS. You will:
- Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a positive and safe experience to at-risk consumers
- Develop formulations & brief therapeutic interventions to clients and/or families or significant others
- Outreach assessment in an acute setting
- Hospital based referral as well as expanded community referrals
- We are a small, supportive teams who are passionate about supporting individuals and their families and carers following mental health crisis
About you:
Formal Qualifications
- Grade 3 Psychologists (must hold relevant degree and registration as per attached Position Description)
Essential
- Contribute leadership whilst working in partnership with the Manager and Lead Consultant to a clinical and non-clinical team that will work collaboratively with consumers, carers and families to provide outreach assistance that aims to achieve their goals
- Ensure all elements of the program, including new initiatives are delivered in a timely and effective manner
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Able to lead a cohesive, multidisciplinary team
- Resilience, empathy, self-awareness, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
