Job Description: 

Spiritual Care Practitioner 

  • Part Time position available
  • City locations
  • Be an integral part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Spiritual and Pastoral care team.

An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic and motivated Spiritual Care Practitioners to join our team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Your new role:

  • Provide Spiritual/Pastoral care to a wide range of inpatients, including palliative care, and their families and carers, at Royal Melbourne main campus.
  • assessing and prioritising Pastoral/Spiritual needs and developing appropriate care plans
  • responding to specific referrals in a timely manner and documenting appropriately
  • assisting with the provision of religious and spiritual resources, including Memorial services
  • Be involved in organisational education, professional development and research.

About you:

  • You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative working style
  • Qualifications in Pastoral/Spiritual Care or equivalent
  • Advanced Certificate Clinical Pastoral Education (or equivalent)
  • Membership of Spiritual Care Australia at advanced level (or eligibility), with an ability to function at Level 3 of the Credentialing Framework.
  • Multi-faith and multicultural sensitivity
  • Computer literacy (you will be trained to use EPIC Electronic Medical Record)
