Position Title: Specialist Gastroenterologists
The purpose of these roles is to provide services for inpatient and specialist patients of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as cover for outpatients and endoscopy lists.
Position A : Specialist Gastroenterologist
Employment Status: Ongoing
Hours: 3.5 hours/fortnight
The Role: Participate in inpatient ward consultant roster for 5 weeks/year
Position B: Specilaist Gastroenterologist / Endoscopist
Employment Status: Ongoing
Hours: 10.5 hours/fortnight
The Role: Inpatient endoscopy daytime cover (likely roster participation one day/week) and endoscopy governance/triage responsibilities
Position C: Specialist Gastroenterologist with Luminal Interest
Employment Status: Ongoing
Hours: 7 hours/fortnight
The Role: Rapid access outpatient clinic and on-site support for IBD team.

Unit Description:
The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is a comprehensive department that manages all aspects of gastrointestinal disorders. It has enthusiastic and caring physicians that specialise in different disciplines within the luminal gastrointestinal tract and hepatopancreaticobiliary system. The team is supported by advanced trainees in Gastroenterology and allied health in the form of nurse practitioners, research nurses, nutritionists and research staff. Along with colleagues at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and University of Melbourne adjacent in the Parkville, below is a list of areas of expertise found within the Royal Melbourne Digestive Diseases Centre:
• Endoscopy, including interventional endoscopy
• Hepatology and Pancreatic Medicine
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease
• Gastrointestinal Oncology, including colorectal cancer genetics
• Functional GI Disorders
• Clinical Nutrition
• Coeliac Disease

About You:
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Formal Qualifications
• MBBS or equivalent
• FRACP in Gastroenterology or equivalent
Essential:
• Commitment to live the Melbourne Way - putting people first, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together.
• Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in GI Endoscopy Recognition in upper and lower GI Endoscopy
Desirable:
• Post Fellowship subspeciality training and/or higher qualification(s)
