About the role

Join the Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Service as a Social Worker Grade 2 within our highly regarded two-year Allied Health Graduate Program.

 

This is an opportunity to build your skills and confidence in mental health social work through a structured and supported introduction to practice.

 

Working alongside experienced social workers and a multidisciplinary team, you will support consumers, families, carers and supporters using a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach. You will receive comprehensive orientation, regular clinical supervision, monthly education and peer support, with a strong focus on learning, wellbeing and professional development.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide social work assessment and intervention for consumers, families and carers.
  • Deliver strengths-based, recovery-focused care within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in supervision, clinical reviews, team meetings and education.
  • Engage fully in the Allied Health Graduate Program and ongoing professional development.
  • Practise safely within scope and contribute to quality, risk and service improvement.

 

About You

 

  • A qualified or soon-to-be qualified Social Worker, eligible for AASW membership.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career in public mental health.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills.
  • Commitment to reflective practice, learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work within scope of practice and seek support when required.
  • Full Australian driver’s licence.
