About the Role

As the Senior Pharmacist you will be responsible for the direction, planning, delivery and review of pharmacy services across a specialised and complex clinical area. You will provide leadership and support to the clinical pharmacy team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care while promoting the quality use of medicines.

The role also plays a key part in leading pharmacy quality and safety programs, driving service improvement initiatives, and providing education and training to pharmacy and multidisciplinary staff.

You will join a dynamic and supportive pharmacy team that values collaboration, innovation and excellence in patient care. In return, you will be supported to further develop your leadership capabilities and contribute to the ongoing advancement of pharmacy services across Melbourne Health.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver high quality and patient focused clinical pharmacy services
  • Assess, plan and implement clinical pharmacy services to haematology and bone marrow transplant services and wider team
  • Provide education and training to pharmacy and other healthcare professionals
  • Manage and coordinate your team to achieve patient focused KPIs
  • Promote the quality use of medicines by leading quality and safety projects
  • Contribute to on call, after hours and weekend services

 

About You

  • Registered pharmacist registered with AHPRA,
  • Extensive clinical pharmacy experience in haematology.  Experience in allogeneic stem cell transplant is desirable but not essential
  • Ability and enthusiasm to lead a team
  • Effective communication skills and a passion to share knowledge and educate others.
  • Relevant post graduate qualification or commitment to complete (desirable)
