About the team:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
The VICNISS Coordinating Centre is an independent centre fully funded by the Department of Human Services, Victoria to coordinate surveillance of healthcare associated infections in Victoria. The centre is recognised as a leader in the surveillance of healthcare associated infections and consists of a multidisciplinary team including infectious disease physicians, infection control nurses along with epidemiology/ biostatistics and information technology staff.
Your new role:
- Lead & implement Infection Control Standards & specific best practice standards in area of Clinical Practise.
- Provide support and education to team members, mentors overseeing inexperienced team members, and drives a culture of professional development within all levels of unit.
- Project management and team leadership.
- Attend meetings, committees, conferences and courses beneficial to the functions of the Coordinating Centre.
About you:
- A Registered Nurse.
- You will be a senior infection control consultant with at least 5 years’ experience in an acute hospital.
- You will have experience as a team leader.
- You will have experience in establishment of HAI surveillance programs.
- You have excellent communication and organisational skills and the capacity to work effectively as a member of a team.
- You have experience in report writing and experience or a demonstrated interest in research.
