Senior Infection Control Consultant

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • VICNISS Coordinating Centre
  • Part Time, Ongoing
  • Assist with the surveillance activities of the Coordinating Centre

The VICNISS Coordinating Centre is an independent centre fully funded by the Department of Human Services, Victoria to coordinate surveillance of healthcare associated infections in Victoria. The centre is recognised as a leader in the surveillance of healthcare associated infections and consists of a multidisciplinary team including infectious disease physicians, infection control nurses along with epidemiology/ biostatistics and information technology staff.

Your new role:

Applicants are sought for the role of Infection Control Consultant to assist with the surveillance activities of the Coordinating Centre, including education, data collation and ongoing support for participating hospitals. This role will also involve assisting with coordination of the Victorian hand hygiene program including education of auditors and reporting of data.

About you:

  • You will be a senior infection control consultant with at least 5 years’ experience in an acute hospital
  • You have excellent communication and organisational skills and the capacity to work effectively as a member of a team
  • You have experience in report writing and experience or a demonstrated interest in research
