Join our dedicated Mental Health Emergency Response team as a Mental Health Clinician, where you'll provide compassionate, recovery-focused care to individuals in crisis. Working collaboratively with health professionals and community services, you’ll play a key role in delivering timely support and guiding people toward stability and ongoing care.

About the role:
- Provide immediate, person-centred mental health support to individuals experiencing crisis
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and coordinate care
- Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-oriented interventions in both community and emergency settings
- Liaise with families, carers, and external services to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain clinical documentation and contribute to ongoing service improvement
About you
Qualifications
- This is a multidisciplinary role open to Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists or Occupational Therapists (must hold relevant degree, registration and/or membership as per attached Position Description)
Essential
- At least two years’ experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability
- Experience in an IWAMHS-endorsed practice area with a commitment to its application
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse individuals, providing culturally sensitive and gender-aware services
- Proficient in writing case assessments, safety plans, discharge summaries, and other documentation
- Ability to conduct alcohol and drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, and interventions for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Strong treatment skills for severe mental health conditions or commitment to developing evidence-based practices
Desirable
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are highly encouraged to apply
- Experience in working with ACCHO and Aboriginal Communities and Families
