• Full Time Fixed Term - Maternity Leave Replacement commencing 21/07/2025
• Grade 1 / 2  Full-time Scientist position in the Microbiology Department 
• 5 weeks annual leave and monthly ADO's + Salary Packaging

We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Microbiology team. This is a 1 year temporary Grade 1 or 2 Full-time Scientist position working in the Microbiology Department.

About the role:

• Work in all areas of the microbiology department including bacteriology, serology and molecular biology
• Participate in the implementation and development of new tests and methods as directed
• Participate in laboratory presentations within the Microbiology Department
• Work with relevant pathology staff to deliver services in a timely manner.

About You: 

• Experience in a clinical diagnostic Microbiology laboratory
• Experience in Molecular Microbiology - Desirable
• Recognised scientific training and competence relevant to the position including appropriate knowledge and experience in quality systems
• Experience in analytical methods and techniques of diagnostic microbiology
• Professional approach to patient care, confidentiality and efficient provision of pathology services
