  • The project is focused on developing approaches to surveillance of healthcare infections associated with in-home care
  • You will be supported by a team of clinicians and researchers

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

VICNISS are seeking a project manager to join our clinicians and researchers on a new project which will run over two years. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including liaising with key stakeholders in the aged care industry including coordinating interviews, developing resource materials, assisting with analyses of data and report writing. The position will be based at the VICNISS (Victorian Healthcare Associated Infection Surveillance System) Coordinating Centre, located at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity.

About the role

  • You will be located with a team that includes nurses, infectious diseases specialists, epidemiologists and IT professionals
  • You will be assisting with the development of a novel surveillance system
  • You will have the opportunity to develop and implement training for participants
  • Your role will require excellent communication and organisational skills and a background in health

About you

You will have a degree in a health-related discipline e.g. nursing, pharmacy, science or biomedical sciences

  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Post graduate degree
  • Experience in qualitative research methods
  • Experience in infection prevention and control
