Research Officer - Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing (VCCMHW)

  • Full-time, 12-month fixed term (part-time considered).
  • Support translational research across community and inpatient settings.
  • Guided by senior academics within the Best Practice Consortium.

 

About The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH)

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services provides person-centred, recovery-oriented care and support through our multidisciplinary workforce of skilled clinicians and lived and living experience (LLE) consumer and carer experts.

We are dedicated to high-quality specialist services for adults and older adults experiencing, or at risk of, serious mental illness. Our approach is trauma-informed, holistic, inclusive of families, carers and kin, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

As the lead mental health service for the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing (VCCMHW), we are at the forefront of driving reform across the sector. Our strong partnerships with community and academic organisations enable sophisticated learning opportunities and research translation.

 

Your New Role

  • Support translational and evaluation research design that centres lived and living experience.
  • Coordinate ethics and governance processes.
  • Contribute to grant applications.
  • Collect and record participant information and manage consent procedures, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
  • Support data collection, entry, checking, and analysis.
  • Actively contribute to the communication and dissemination of research.

 

About You

  • A curious and inquisitive mindset.
  • Completion of a PhD or Masters by Research in social science or health, with experience conducting mixed-method research in real-world settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
