Registered Nurse - Research (Urology)
The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Part Time, 12 months Fixed Term position
  • 32 hours per fortnight
  • Friendly and supportive team environment

 

The Urology Department at RMH provides comprehensive treatment, surgical intervention and management for patients with complex urological conditions. Our multi-disciplinary nursing team works across specialist clinics, day admission environments and research activities to deliver continuity of care, promote recovery, and support patient self-management.

Your Opportunity

The Research Nurse plays a critical role in managing, facilitating and coordinating the daily activities of clinical trials within the Urology Department. In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the clinical care of participants in research studies, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of clinical trial activities, including participant recruitment and monitoring
  • Collaborate with investigators, sponsors and research partners to ensure compliance with research protocols, GCP guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Support research clinicians and the Research Coordinator with administration, financial, and reporting aspects of studies
  • Contribute to advancing evidence-based practice and patient-centred research outcomes

About You

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years’ research nursing experience
  • Strong knowledge of research protocols, GCP guidelines, methodologies and data management systems
  • Skills in cannulation, venepuncture, ECG, IV administration and blood sample handling
  • Experience in preparing and submitting Ethics applications (desirable)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team
