About the role

Join the Snow Centre for Immune Health (SCIH), a collaboration between the Royal Melbourne Hospital and WEHI, working to transform how immune diseases are assessed and treated.

As a Research Nurse, you’ll be an integral member of the Snow Centre research program, supporting a diverse portfolio of investigator-led and industry-sponsored research. You’ll work across multiple research projects concurrently and, depending on workload, may take primary responsibility for coordinating specific clinical trials.

This is an opportunity to combine your nursing expertise with research, working alongside leading researchers and clinicians to support research that aims to improve outcomes for people living with immune diseases.

Key Accountabilities

• Identify and recruit eligible participants across RMH specialties into SCIH research programs.
• Support participant screening, consent, recruitment and follow-up in line with study protocols.
• Recruit and consent healthy volunteers for relevant research studies.
• Build positive relationships with participants, researchers and clinical teams to support ongoing study engagement.
• Coordinate the collection, processing and timely transfer of clinical data and research samples with WEHI researchers and Centre staff.
• Maintain accurate study, consent and sample tracking records in line with study protocols, ethical requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Assist with collecting and collating clinical data for analysis in collaboration with SCIH clinical teams.
• Work collaboratively with the SCIH research team to support recruitment targets and successful delivery of research programs.

About You

You are a Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills and an interest in contributing to clinical research. You bring:

• Sound knowledge of research ethics, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Completion of ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training, or willingness to complete.
• Strong clinical nursing skills, including advanced venipuncture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, researchers and professional services teams.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• The ability to adapt to changing research priorities, protocols and study requirements.
• A strong commitment to research integrity, ethical practice and participant safety.
