Registered Nurse – General Medicine

About the Role

This ongoing part-time position (64 hours per fortnight) offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive team caring for patients with a broad range of acute and complex medical conditions.

5 North provides a fantastic environment for nurses looking to broaden their clinical knowledge and build confidence across a diverse patient cohort. You will develop expertise in comprehensive patient assessment, clinical decision-making, recognising and responding to deterioration, and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with acute and complex medical needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and patient-centred care.
  • Support patients and families through education, advocacy and effective communication.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and team-focused ward culture.

About You

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sound clinical reasoning, assessment and prioritisation skills.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in acute medical nursing.
  • Experience caring for patients with complex and diverse healthcare needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
