Registered Nurse - Trauma Surgery Ward
The Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Part Time Ongoing Position
  • 64 hours per fortnight

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our 7 South East Trauma Surgery team. As part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to some of Victoria’s most severely injured patients.

Our 30-bed trauma ward is the state’s tertiary referral centre, caring for some of the sickest trauma patients in Victoria. With the support of experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), Associate Nurse Unit Managers (ANUM) and Clinical Nurse Educators (CNE), you will be well-supported to develop advanced clinical skills that can open pathways into specialties such as ICU and ED. In addition, the Trauma CNC team provides excellent professional development opportunities, including specialist trauma study days and advanced training sessions covering collar fitting and other essential techniques.

About You:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Sound clinical reasoning and prioritisation skills
  • Commitment to safe, high-quality patient care
  • A positive and adaptable attitude
  • You are a compassionate and motivated nurse, focused on delivering person-centred care
  • You thrive in busy clinical settings and enjoy working as part of a team
  • You bring strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
  • You are committed to The Melbourne Way and to making a difference, every day

Desirable:

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in surgical nursing (2 years preferred)
