Job Description: 

Registered Nurse, Cardiac Catheter Lab 

 

  • Part Time ongoing position | 48 hours per fortnight

About the role

 

Join our Cardiac Catheter Laboratories as a Grade 2 Registered Nurse, providing comprehensive, person-centred care to patients undergoing a diverse range of elective and emergency cardiac procedures.

 

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will provide safe, timely and equitable care while supporting patients and families throughout their procedural journey.

 

Our service operates 24/7 across three cardiac catheter labs, offering coronary angiography, pacing, TAVI, complex congenital structural interventions and electrophysiology. With a modern electrophysiology lab opened in 2022, you will join a growing specialist heart service supporting patients across the north and west of Victoria.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Support excellence in clinical practice ensuring standards of practice are consistently reflected in professional practice and patient care.  
  • Also be responsible for escalating clinical risk and assisting implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes 
  • Facilitate timely patient access and flow across the continuum of care.  
  • Support and promote preceptorship including undertaking the preceptor role.  
  • Develop clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills.  
  • Perform nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with Royal Melbourne Hospital policy and procedures 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum three years’ clinical experience in a Cardiology setting
  • Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work a range of shifts within a supportive multidisciplinary team
  • Postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Care (desirable)
