About the role
Join our Cardiac Catheter Laboratories as a Cardiac Nurse and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to people undergoing a broad range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Working in a fast-paced, highly specialised environment, you'll provide comprehensive nursing care, patient education and clinical support throughout the patient's journey, ensuring care is safe, timely, equitable and compassionate.
As part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate with experienced nursing, medical and allied health professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and their families. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in interventional cardiology while contributing to a culture of clinical excellence, continuous improvement and person-centred care.
Key Accountabilities
- Support excellence in clinical practice ensuring standards of practice are consistently reflected in professional practice and patient care.
- Also be responsible for escalating clinical risk and assisting implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes
- Facilitate timely patient access and flow across the continuum of care.
- Support and promote preceptorship including undertaking the preceptor role.
- Develop clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills.
- Perform nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with Royal Melbourne Hospital policy and procedures
About You
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- A postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Care (Desirable)
- Are willing to work a range of shifts within our supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team.
- A minimum of three years clinical experience in the Cardiology setting
- Excellent time management, prioritisation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
