About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):

RMH is part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

 

The Cardiac Catheter Laboratories caters for patients undergoing elective and emergency cardiac procedures with a 24/7 on call service comprising of 3 labs. Procedures include Coronary Angiogram, Pacing, Trans aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), complex congenital structural intervention and is a world known leader in Cardiac Arrhythmias. 

 

About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and dedicated Cardiac Nurse to join our team, located at The Royal Melbourne – City Campus

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Support excellence in clinical practice ensuring standards of practice are consistently reflected in professional practice and patient care. 
  • Also be responsible for escalating clinical risk and assisting implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes
  • Facilitate timely patient access and flow across the continuum of care. 
  • Support and promote preceptorship including undertaking the preceptor role. 
  • Develop clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills. 
  • Perform nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with Royal Melbourne Hospital policy and procedures

 

About You:

Qualifications

  • AHPRA registration
  • Valid Working With Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • A postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Care (Desirable)
  • Are willing to work a range of shifts within our supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team. 
  • A minimum of three years clinical experience in the Cardiology setting
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
