Grade 2 Registered Nurse – Medical Imaging Services

About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):

RMH part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs. 

About the role:

The Radiology Department at The Royal Melbourne Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary referral service provided by Radiologists with subspecialty expertise. The full range of diagnostic and interventional services is provided for inpatients and outpatients using state-of-the-art equipment.

 

Diagnostic services include plain film radiography, Mammography, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), Positron Emission Computed Tomography (PET CT), Nuclear Medicine, Angiography and MRI. Interventional procedures provided include all vascular, neurointerventional, gastrointestinal, biliary and urological interventions as well as therapeutic embolisations and image guided biopsies.


Key responsibilities:
In this role, you will 

  • Prepare patients for Imaging (diagnostic and intervention)
  • Sedation and analgesia management
  • IV cannulation and contrast administration 
  • Patient-centred procedural support and monitoring
  • Scrub / scout angiography nursing



About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have: 

Qualifications 

  • Current AHPRA Registration 

Essential

  • A minimum of one year current acute clinical experience
  • Excellent clinical knowledge
  • High quality patient care

Desirable 

  • An interest in procedural based nursing
  • Multidisciplinary team collaboration
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
