Registered Nurse – Nurse Resource Transition Pool (NRTP)

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Nurse Resource Transition Pool (NRTP), you will work across a variety of clinical settings and locations within the Royal Melbourne Hospital, including the Emergency Department, Royal Park Campus, and Residential Aged Care sites. This role operates on a rotating roster, including night shifts and weekends.

The primary purpose of this position is to support ward staffing needs by deploying experienced and adaptable Registered Nurses with a broad skill set across multiple specialties.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Working across medical and surgical wards, as well as at our Royal Park Campus, which includes Aged Care, Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM), and Rehabilitation wards.
  • Maintaining accountability for patient safety, quality, and risk, while actively contributing to broader organisational quality and safety initiatives.
  • Performing nursing procedures and interventions in accordance with Royal Melbourne Hospital’s clinical policies and procedures.

About you:

  • Minimum 2 years acute nursing experience
  • Experience in both medical and surgical nursing settings
  • Ability to commit to a 7-day rotating roster, including AM, PM, and night duty shifts
  • Willingness to be deployed across a range of clinical areas and specialties, including the main hospital campus and Royal Park Campus
