About the Role

 

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and cardiology ward (ward 2B) is a progressive and dynamic unit. CCU comprises of 6 CCU beds and 4 step-down beds. Ward 2B comprises of 23 cardiology beds. The unit functions within a collaborative environment. Our shared goal is the delivery of high-quality patient centred care.

 

As a Registered Nurse, you are a vital member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, striving to deliver excellent care to patients and their families. You understand the importance of providing nursing care that focuses on achieving the best possible outcomes for patients. This includes, but is not limited to, providing patient education across the continuum of care and delivering safe, high-quality care that aligns with the Royal Melbourne Hospital values of People First, Lead with Kindness, and Excellence Together.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and person-centred care that promotes the best possible outcomes for patients and their families.
  • Partner with patients, carers, and families across the continuum of care to support informed decision-making, education, and positive healthcare experiences.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of respect, teamwork, and shared accountability for excellent patient care.
  • Practise within your professional scope, exercising sound clinical judgement, advocating for patient safety, and seeking support when required.
  • Maintain and enhance your clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and participation in performance development processes.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and psychologically supportive workplace that reflects the RMH values of People First, Lead with Kindness, and Excellence Together.

 

About You

 

  • Qualified Nurse with valid AHPRA Registration
  • Post Graduate certificate in cardiac or critical care nursing 
  • Ongoing professional development and learning will be supported.
  • Candidate must be reliable and highly motivated.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential.
