Your new team:
As the Quality & Compliance Officer at VIDRL, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our quality systems. You’ll oversee CAPA processes, support risk management, and optimise our electronic Quality Management System. You’ll contribute to clinical trial execution, managing internal and support external audits, and regulatory accreditation activities. This role also ensures compliance with national and international standards, including TGA, VIC DoH, NPAAC, ISO 15189, and supports continuous improvement across VIDRL’s operations.
This is an exceptional opportunity to develop and apply your technical, quality management and regulatory compliance expertise within a world-leading infectious diseases reference laboratory. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across laboratory operations and clinical trials. You’ll also be part of a culture that actively fosters innovation, contributing to the development of cutting-edge methods and improving laboratory processes.
Your new role:
- Lead the coordination and monitoring of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
- Conduct risk assessments and support the implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Manage and enhance eQMS.
- Draft, maintain and control quality documentation and records to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, including regulatory and accreditation reviews.
- Collate and analyse quality data to support management reporting and continuous improvement.
- Deliver training and guidance to staff on quality systems and processes.
About you:
- Relevant degree in Science or Medical Science in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in a quality management role within a pathology or similar domain.
- Demonstrated deep understanding of ISO 15189, ISO 9001 and TGA IVD requirements, with familiarity with EU IVDR considered a valuable asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and trend identification, with experience in other data analysis tools highly desirable.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
