About The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services (RMH MHS):
RMH-MHS provides excellence in recovery-focused, evidence-based care for adults with serious mental illness. Our teams, including LLE experts, work across hospital and community settings and lead statewide initiatives, offering staff excellent learning and research opportunities.
We are currently seeking five early career psychologists (clinical) to be part of our 2-year, Clinical Psychology Registrar program.
About the role:
The Clinical Psychology Registrar program develops early-career psychologists into skilled practitioners through a structured and supportive 2-year training program. Registrars rotate through two clinical programs, gaining experience across a range of psychiatric presentations and interventions. The program includes:
- Opportunities to gain experience working in a community mental health and psychological therapy team, inpatient psychiatric unit, and eating disorders inpatient and outpatient program
- Individual and group supervision
- Protected learning time, professional development days and cross-service discovery experiences
- Opportunities to engage in research, innovative programs, and network with ~50 clinical psychologists across RMH
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and provide evidence-based psychological therapies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with consumers, families, and external providers
- Participate fully in the Psychology Entry Level Program, including supervision and professional development
- Promote a psychologically safe work environment and contribute to service improvement initiatives
- Work within scope of practice, prioritise safety, wellbeing, and professional growth
About you:
We are looking for early-career psychologists/clinical / neuropsychology graduates who are:
- Committed to recovery-oriented, evidence-based mental health care
- Eager to learn and apply a broad range of psychological assessment and intervention skills
- Collaborative and able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Interested in contributing to innovative programs and system-wide mental health improvements
