Job Description: 

Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse

  • Community-based rehabilitation supporting independence
  • Full Time, Ongoing Permanent Night Shift opportunity working 80 hours per fortnight

Join Norfolk Terrace Community Care Unit (CCU) at Travancore, a 20-bed residential rehabilitation service supporting people with severe and enduring mental illness within the RMH Mental Health Services catchment.

 

The service comprises 12 shared residential units and provides 24-hour support focused on recovery, rehabilitation and building greater independence.

 

As a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse Grade 2, you will provide recovery-focused, person-centred nursing care and work closely with consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary team to support individual recovery goals. You will help consumers develop or regain skills in self-care, communication and social participation, while contributing to collaborative recovery planning and evidence-based mental health care.

 

This is a permanent night shift position,

 

Key accountabilities

 

  • Provide recovery-oriented, person-centred mental health care within a residential rehabilitation setting
  • Support consumers to develop daily living skills that promote independence and community integration
  • Collaborate with families, carers and community partners to support holistic recovery outcomes
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality mental health care
  • Apply relevant mental health legislation, policies and clinical frameworks in day-to-day practice

 

About You

 

  • Extensive nursing experience in all or multiple specialties, or transferrable skills and a demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively
  • Post Graduate Qualification in specialty area
  • Passionate, enthusiastic and a willingness to embrace new ways of learning
  • Ability to provide mentoring and leadership in the clinical areas
  • Experience providing staff, graduates and students with clinically based supervision and training in accordance with RMH policy and procedures
  • Experience in the delivery of Entry to Practice and Graduate Nurse Programs, as well as a willingness to support the development and implementation of RISE and Postgraduate programs to staff within the clinical areas
