Job Description: 

Prosthetist / Orthotist – Grade 2 Casual

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Deliver high-quality, client-centred orthotic care within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
  • Enjoy flexible rostering as a casual employee
  • Based at Royal Park Campus, but may require working on-site at RMH City, Western Hospital Footscray or Sunshine Hospital.

 

About the Role

  • Based at the Royal Park Campus, you will provide assessment, prescription and supply of orthotic devices, supporting outpatient rehabilitation and collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary community therapy service (CTS) team.
  • Contribute to efficient outpatient service delivery, supports junior staff and participates in case conferences and team planning.
  • This position offers opportunity to be part of an established Prosthetics & Orthotics team, in a major amputee rehabilitation service.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality assessment, prescription and supply of orthotic devices for outpatient rehabilitation
  • Work collaboratively with CTS teams, attending case conferences and business meetings
  • Support junior staff and assist with student education where required
  • Ensure accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Contribute to safe work practices, risk management and service improvement initiatives

About You

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics (or equivalent).

Essential

  • Eligibility as an NDIS provider.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Commitment to The Melbourne Way – People First, Lead with Kindness, Excellence Together.

Desirable

  • Membership with AOPA.
  • Experience delivering outpatient Prosthetics & Orthotics services.
