Job Description: 

Grade 2 Physiotherapist 
Cardiorespiratory rotating position

  • Full time opportunity | Fixed term roles available (6 to 9 months)
  • Develop Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy skills across Medical, Surgical, ICU and Trauma

About the role

 

Join the RMH Physiotherapy team in a rotational Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy position, gaining experience across Intensive Care, Trauma, Cardiothoracics, General Surgery, General Medicine and Specialty Medicine.

 

You will provide physiotherapy care to a diverse range of acute patients as part of a seven-day service, including weekend work. You will also contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives, support student and junior physiotherapist education, and access leadership and professional development opportunities.

 

Work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, with guidance from experienced Grade 3 and 4 physiotherapists and opportunities to develop your clinical skills across Physiotherapy and Allied Health

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Bring your excellent clinical skills to provide high quality patient assessment to competently and independently assess, treat and manage cardiorespiratory patients in the acute health setting
  • Contribute to the operational needs of the department across a 7-day service model
  • Work across a variety of wards and caseloads, being flexible to meet the clinical and workforce needs of the Physiotherapy department
  • Be involved in the supervision and education of student and junior Physiotherapists
  • Develop your leadership skills in organisational committees and portfolios 
  • Contribute to our innovative research and quality improvement program

 

About You

 

  • Excellent Physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills and the ability to manage a variety of complex cardiorespiratory patients 
  • Well-developed communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Experience working in a hospital healthcare setting
  • Experience with supervision of staff and students
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
