Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • Part Time, Fixed Term position – 12 months, 48 hours per fortnight
  • Join the People, Culture & Communications team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital
  • Work within a collaborative, solutions-focused team environment

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's leading public health services, renowned for excellence, innovation and compassionate care. We are currently seeking an experienced People Services Advisor to join our People Services team within People, Culture & Communications.

This role is responsible for managing end-to-end employment contracting and lifecycle compliance across a dedicated portfolio. You will be a key point of expertise for managers and employees throughout the employee journey — from onboarding and internal movements through to contract variations, leave arrangements and exits — ensuring a seamless, consistent and positive people experience at every touchpoint. A key focus of the role is oversight of SuccessFactors lifecycle workflows, ensuring approvals follow RMH delegations, data is accurate and complete, and any contract or pay-related issues are resolved promptly in partnership with People Information and Payroll teams.

You will also act as the first escalation point for complex contracting matters and compliance risks, provide coaching and mentoring to Onboarding Advisors, and contribute to process improvement and quality assurance activities across the contracting and compliance function.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in HR operations, employment contracting, onboarding and workforce compliance
  • Sound understanding of EBAs, the Fair Work Act and classification structures, with the ability to interpret and apply these accurately
  • Experience working with HRIS workflows, ideally SuccessFactors and/or SAP
  • High-level attention to detail with the ability to investigate pay, data or compliance discrepancies
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels
  • Commitment to The Melbourne Way – people first, leading with kindness, excellence together

Desirable

  • Experience in healthcare, government or other complex, regulated environments
  • Understanding of sector-specific challenges and compliance requirements

Benefits of working at RMH

  • Be part of a supportive and values-driven workplace culture
  • Career growth opportunities, ongoing training, and professional development
  • Access to Health & Wellbeing programs including Fitness Passport, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and Staff Peer Support
  • Salary packaging, on-site car parking, and great public transport access
