Consumer Peer Support Team Leader

Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services

  • Support and supervise our consumer peer support team.
  • This exciting role is full time Monday to Friday – hours negotiable.


RMH-MHS is at the forefront of innovative mental health and addiction treatment. We provide holistic support to individuals in need and we value the contributions of peer support workers in our team.  We are looking for a new team member for the Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Service to work in our inpatient unit and across other programs as needed. We are dedicated to a culturally safe, trauma-informed practice within mental health services.  The team includes both clinical and lived and living experience staff, with a focus on inclusivity for consumers and their individual support needs.

 

Your new role:

As a Peer Support Team Leader you will play a crucial role within the Consumer Lived Experience Team.  Drawing from your personal experience of mental health service use, you will provide unique and person-centred support to consumers using our service and support and supervise your Lived Experience colleagues. Your role requires a solid understanding of peer support work and the Intentional Peer Support framework, group programs and consumer perspective supervision.

  • You are passionate about supporting people and encouraging self-determination.
  • You are able and willing to guide and shape a positive team culture.
  • Willingness to work in all parts of the service where our peers are located.
