Pathology Collector

About the role

As a Pathology Collector, you will play an important role in providing safe, timely and patient-centred specimen collection services across PPV.

Pathology Collection provides inpatient and outpatient collection services, as well as supporting VCGS and external medical practitioners.

This is an opportunity to contribute to Public Pathology Victoria (PPV) as it continues to build a connected statewide pathology service supporting clinical excellence, innovation, research, education and service improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide Pathology Collection Services Inpatient and Outpatient at The Royal Children’s Hospital and The Royal Women’s Hospital Parkville.
  • Provide child centred, family focused care through partnership with parents/ families.
  • Actively contribute. as an individual and as a member of a team, to the continuous improvement of health care quality and patient safety

About You

You will bring:

  • Certificate III in Pathology Collection
  • Previous experience in public or private pathology collection is desirable, but not essential
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A reliable, focused approach with a commitment to completing tasks to a high standard
