The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's leading public health services, renowned for excellence, innovation and compassionate care. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our Nephrology and Kidney Care Services within Medical Services.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the full operational and strategic management of the Department of Nephrology and RMH Kidney Care. The service cares for over 560 dialysis patients throughout Victoria and into southern NSW, operating across more than 18 sites and 130 homes through a hub and spoke model. The role oversees all Nephrology nursing operations — including acute dialysis, satellite units and home dialysis — and works in close partnership with the Director of Nephrology to ensure high-quality, person-centred care, education and research aligned with RMH's strategic direction. This is a rare opportunity to lead a nationally recognised service at the forefront of kidney care, transplantation and clinical innovation.

About you

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA/NMBA
  • Demonstrable experience in effective leadership and management within a dynamic, complex clinical environment
  • Sound financial acumen with experience in budget management, planning and business case development
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present information with impact across clinical and executive audiences
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, build stakeholder relationships and drive service improvement
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deliverables
