Statewide Mental Health Occupational Therapy Educator

Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing (on secondment from The Royal Melbourne Hospital)

 

  • Senior OT role focused on workforce development and education
  • Full-time secondment from RMH to the Victorian Collaborative Centre (fixed term to 18 Sep 2026)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with protected time for training and supervision

Your new role:

The Statewide Mental Health OT Educator provides senior leadership to strengthen and sustain the Victorian public mental health occupational therapy workforce. The role leads statewide workforce development and education, identifies learning needs, delivers strategic training solutions, and contributes OT expertise to multidisciplinary workforce initiatives. This position builds strong partnerships across area mental health services, universities, and key stakeholders to support workforce capability and future-focused growth.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead statewide workforce planning and development for mental health occupational therapists
  • Use scoping and benchmarking data to drive strategic workforce priorities
  • Design, deliver and evaluate education and workforce capability programs
  • Build OT capability in developing and measuring workforce initiatives
  • Partner with research and academic programs support knowledge translation
    Drive strategic plan implementation and OT supervision framework uplift

 

About you:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA registration (Occupational Therapy Board of Australia)
  •  7–10+ years public mental health OT experience in government and regulated services
    Cert IV TAE or demonstrated experience designing, delivering and evaluating training programs
  • Leadership experience leading projects, teams and workforce development initiatives
  • Experience planning and evaluating OT professional development and providing clinical supervision
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and experience co-producing education with lived experience partners
