Occupational Therapy Research Clinical Lead

Your new team:
Our Allied Health staff work across the continuum of care, from acute and subacute settings to centre and home-based services. Our staff are highly engaged in research and quality improvement. Our Occupational Therapy team is made up of approximately 90 EFT and 100 staff including occupational therapists, allied health assistants, Flying Squad and Disability Liaison Officers.
Your new role:
This role will focus specifically on occupational therapy, but also will have a role in all elements of an allied health research unit, driving skill acquisition and interprofessional research across allied health.
The leader will:
- Enhance leadership in allied health research and establish innovation priorities.
- Optimise research governance and infrastructure utilization.
- Build research capability and capacity.
- Foster research partnerships and collaboration.
About you:
- A background of successful and productive research, close to completing a minimum of a Masters degree in relevant post-graduate and are passionate about addressing the barriers to allied health professionals undertaking research
- Model effective translational research and generate an increased evidence base to improve patient care
- Lead strategies to develop the Allied Health research culture, capability and capacity at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and develop our early career researchers through support, education and mentoring.
- Skilled at engaging with a large group of Allied Health professionals and can develop strong relationships within the organisation and research links with the Universities
