Job Description: 

Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist
Grade 4 sub-acute inpatient services

 

  • Fixed term Part Time (0.84 EFT) 01/12/25 – 06/02/26
  • Provide clinical expertise and leadership across sub-acute inpatient services
  • Work with leaders in neuromuscular rehabilitation and geriatric evaluation and management (GEM) at our Royal Park campus
  • Develop specialist clinical, research, education, and leadership skills for Allied Health

 

The sub-acute inpatient service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is committed to providing outstanding patient care. The sub-acute inpatient teams provide clinical services to a wide range of clients who have a variety of conditions.  This role will provide clinical leadership, intervention, and discharge planning for patients in the GEM and rehabilitation wards.

The role is supported by a peer grade 4 clinical leader (community therapy service), senior clinicians, OT research leader, and the OT manager.

 

Your new role:

  • Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred leadership including assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for patients in the sub-acute wards
  • Supervise and develop your team of occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students
  • Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership
  • Actively lead and participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research

  • You are a peer recognised expert in your chosen specialty, dedicated to providing evidence-based practice
  • You have extensive hospital experience with a collaborative working style
  • You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
