The purpose of this role is to provide clinical leadership and drive evidence-based practice within Trauma and surgical services at Royal Melbourne Hospital. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver excellence in patient care, teaching and research. The development of the trauma service and innovations to support the patient experience, optimising clinical care and succession planning are a key element of this role.
The role is governed by the Occupational Therapy Manager. Occupational Therapy sits within the Allied Health department and provides a strong teamwork culture in both the Occupational Therapy team and multi-disciplinary group.
Your new role:
- The OT surgical stream provides clinical services to a wide range of clients who have undergone a variety of surgical procedures, or experienced traumatic injuries.
- You will contribute to the delivery of excellent patient care by providing high level clinical advice and fostering staff development.
- You will model effective interdisciplinary practice to achieve excellence in patient care.
- You will carry a clinical caseload within trauma and provide clinical oversight and leadership across surgical services.
About you:
- You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative leadership style
- Broad relevant clinical experience and advanced clinical skills as an OT
- Broad understanding of issues and trends in public health and the Australian health system
- High level analytical, problem solving, negotiation and planning skills
