  • Seeking a Urology Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner Candidate
  • Full Time Ongoing position
  • 80 hours per fortnight including Monthly Accrued Day Off

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's leading public health services, renowned for excellence, innovation and compassionate care. We are currently seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Department of Urology within Surgical Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as an independent practitioner within a specialist urology service, leading nurse-led clinics across haematuria/flexible cystoscopy, Prostate Biopsy, Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) and routine post-cancer surveillance. You will play a key role in managing referrals to the unit and working closely with the inpatient team, with a particular focus on discharge planning including same-day discharge for urological procedures. Working in collaboration with the Head of Urology and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will bring advanced clinical expertise and outstanding communication skills to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

About you

  • Current registration with AHPRA/NMBA as an Endorsed Nurse Practitioner, or working towards endorsement
  • Postgraduate qualification in Nursing and completion of, or working towards, an NMBA-approved Masters for Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum three years' clinical experience in Urology nursing
  • Advanced assessment, clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of professional conduct
  • Commitment to The Melbourne Way – people first, leading with kindness, excellence together

Desirable

  • Participation in clinical research and audit
  • Sound understanding of clinical information systems and risk management reporting
