Medical Laboratory Scientist Grade 1

- Full Time Fixed term – until 31 March 2028
- 80 hours incl ADO hours per fortnight
- Parkville location, close to public transport
The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our scientific team. This is a full time fixed term position to work in our Endocrine laboratory.
Your Opportunity:
- Perform a variety of pancreatic antibodies analyses using both immunoassays and molecular diagnostics methods.
- Undertake other related duties as required.
About You:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Medical Science, Biomedical Science, Laboratory Science or similar discipline.
- Relevant laboratory experience in a research or diagnostic setting (e.g. immunoassays, molecular diagnostics)
- Experience in a tertiary hospital or private laboratory is desirable.
- Commitment to customer focused service.
- Capacity to perform under pressure, to meet time constraints and determine work priorities.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork based skills.
