Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is a new, dedicated public youth mental health service and is the first of its kind in Australia. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team.

About Us:

The Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s first dedicated public mental health service for young people aged 12 to 25, created in response to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. Officially launching under independent governance in July 2025, PYMHWS is a transformational service delivering tailored, evidence-informed care for young people with complex mental illness across Melbourne’s north and west.

We are passionate about collaboration, innovation, and delivering care that meets the unique needs of young people and their families. As we establish this vital new organisation, we’re seeking purpose-driven individuals to join us on the journey.

 

The Opportunity:

Be part of Victoria’s new public youth mental health service. We're seeking a highly organised, detail-focused Workforce Resource Manager.

 

What you'll be doing:

In this pivotal leadership position, you will:

  • Establish and lead the new PYMHWS Workforce Resource Team, supporting operational workforce needs across all service streams and disciplines (excluding medical staff)
  • Manage bank staff and support allocation in response to unplanned vacancies and changing service demand
  • Collaborate closely with operational managers and clinical leaders to maintain service continuity and safe clinical care
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and compliance of bank staff to meet workforce capability and regulatory requirements
  • Foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and innovation in youth mental health service delivery

This is a rare opportunity to create and lead a new team from the ground up in one of the transformative healthcare initiatives in Victoria.

 

Formal Qualifications:

You will hold a tertiary qualification and relevant registration in one of the following disciplines:

  • Mental Health Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work

✔️ Strong budgeting, workforce planning, and operational oversight skills

✔️ High-level proficiency with Office 365 and workforce management systems
