About the role:
The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of mental health-specific educational programs, ensuring our nursing staff are equipped with evidence-based skills.
In this role, you won't just teach, you will transform practice. You will be at the forefront of implementing best-practice frameworks like Trauma-Informed Care and Safewards, providing the clinical leadership necessary to support both our staff and our patients.
Key responsibilities:
In this role, you will
- Role model clinical mental health nursing best practice
- Prepare & conduct lectures, in-services, workshops and education to Emergency Department nurses.
- Participate in and provide clinical supervision of mental health Post Graduate nurses in the ED and HUB.
- Attend code grey events to support staff and assist in care planning
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualifications
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
Essential
- A Registered Nurse with extensive experience in the assessment, delivery of treatment and provision of targeted interventions supporting consumers, families and carers with complex mental health needs.
- Leadership experience in supporting and helping build a positive culture, assisting the team and other staff in their clinical decision making and contribution to their expertise in clinical meetings.
- Ability to work and problem solve independently
- A sound understanding of the MHWA
Desirable
- Masters level qualifications in nursing (Mental Health)
