Job Description: 

Interim Locum Specialist Urologist

Fractional/Fixed Term – 6 months with a zero hour contract
The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

Unit Description:

The RMH Urology Department is one of Australia’s leading Urology centres.  It offers a comprehensive urological service from the City Campus, providing specialised clinical services for all adult urological conditions including urological cancers, stone disease and continence problems.

The Department is actively involved with both clinical and basic scientific research.

It provides excellent training opportunities for Urologists and all staff under the Director of Urology.

About the role:

  • Apply your expertise in clinical settings with patients and junior staff.
  • Perform a variety of urologic procedures either open, laparoscopically and robotically
  • Participate in Research

About You:

  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (for international Medical Graduates)
  • MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
  • Fellowship
  • You will be an integral part of the Senior Medical Staff 
  • Participate in annual performance review to be undertaken by Head of Unit.
  • Maintain skills and abilities through professional training and development.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities for advancing the practices of medicine within the expertise of the appointee.
