Health Assistant in Nursing (HAN)

• Part time opportunity available- 0.6EFT (48hrs per fortnight)
• Joining our 5North General Medicine team as a Health Assistant in Nursing
• Work with a dynamic multi-disciplinary team focusing on providing holistic care to our patients
5 North is a specialist 20 bed acute ward with a focus on providing care to patients admitted under the General Medicine Unit. The ward has a multi-disciplinary approach to patient management that focuses on collaboration to provide safe, timely, effective person centred care to the patient with complex needs.
Your new role:
- Participate in delegated care relating to patients activities of daily living, ensuring that the personal needs, dignity, and comfort of patients are maintained
- Provide constant observation to patients at risk of harm to self/others
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary health care team to achieve the desired patient outcomes.
About You:
- Individuals who have completed a certificate III in individual support (Health Assistant)
- Previous experience working in an acute healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
- Individuals who strive to provide high quality patient care
- Commit to a rotation roster Monday - Sunday, including morning and afternoon shifts
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and their families
