You’ll be supported by the First Nations Health Unit, the Social, Emotional and Wellbeing team, nursing leadership, and experienced educators.   • One-year program, with ongoing contract for career security
  • Opportunity to develop a range of nursing skills with two 6-month clinical rotations in a wide variety of specialities
  • 0.8EFT positions (8 shifts/fortnight) to support work-life balance in your first year of practice
  • Graduate specific orientation and professional development program to set you up for success
  • Dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing, Early Career Nurse Educator and First Nations Health Unit to prioritise the needs of our graduate nurses

About your team

We are proud to have 90 clinical nurse educators and support nurses based on the wards, providing expert supervision, education, and a safe space for debriefing. Each clinical area has a tailored preceptorship model, with preceptors working closely with you during your supernumerary period, the first 4 to 6 weeks of your rotation, and your initial night shifts.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed all training requirements and will qualify for registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Midwife (RM) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia by February 2026.
  • Be an Australian/NZ citizen OR temporary resident who holds a visa that gives them the “Right to Work” in Australia.
  • Identify as First Nations
  • Eligible for PMCV (Allocation & Placement Service) match

Step 2: Complete the online application. You will need your PMCV number for this process.
