About The Social Work Team:

With over 40 staff members, the Social Work team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital works across both the City and Royal Park Campuses in a range of acute, sub-acute, and community-based services. Our team is supportive, professional, and dedicated to providing compassionate care to all members of the community.

 

The Role:

As a Senior Social Worker at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, you will:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, providing emotional support and counselling to patients, families, and carers.
  • Lead teaching and training initiatives for junior staff and future social work students.
  • Collaborate with other Senior Social Workers across various clinical areas to enhance patient care.
  • Help us achieve excellence in patient care while mentoring the next generation of social workers.

About You:

You are a skilled and compassionate Social Worker who:

  • Holds a qualification in Social Work (current member or eligibility for AASW) and has hospital experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Is an adaptable, quick learner, capable of working independently in a hospital setting.
  • Delivers exceptional, consumer-focused clinical care to patients and their carers.
  • Has the experience and expertise to mentor and supervise junior staff and students.
