About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals, delivering a wide range of acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist services across inpatient and community settings. As part of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, we collaborate to advance research and improve patient care.
Our Clinical Nutrition team includes around 50 staff, providing 7-day, evidence-based, patient-centred care across acute, subacute, and community services. We prioritise wellbeing, professional development, teaching, quality improvement, and research.
Your New Role:
- Deliver expert clinical dietetic assessment and nutrition management for patients with gastrointestinal conditions, including IBD, liver disease, and disorders of gut–brain interaction.
- Work collaboratively within a specialised multidisciplinary team to support patients requiring complex nutrition support, including HEN and PN.
- Contribute to service development, clinical leadership, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
- This role is based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus and may include occasional weekend shifts.
About You:
- Extensive experience in acute nutrition care, with a strong focus on complex nutrition support and the management of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with the ability to motivate and support colleagues while contributing to service development.
- Highly developed organisational skills, supported by excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proven ability to navigate conflict, and to collaborate and negotiate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A genuine passion for supervision, mentoring, and fostering clinical leadership in both students and staff.
