Job Description: 

Grade 2/3 Clinical Neuropsychologist

Royal Melbourne Hospital

  

  • Permanent, 0.42 EFT in Community Therapy Service.

  • Provide patient-centred, evidence-based neuropsychology assessments, brief interventions and cognitive rehabilitation in partnership with patients of Royal Melbourne Hospital.  

  • This role is primarily based in the Community Therapy Service at Royal Park Campus and involves active collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality, timely and effective care.  

 

Allied Health - Psychology are a dynamic team comprised of neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists and health psychologists. There is a strong culture of clinical research in both teams with a number of research projects underway.  

 

Your new role:   

  • Provide neuropsychological assessments, brief interventions and cognitive rehabilitation to outpatients in the Community Therapy Team at Royal Melbourne Hospital.

  • Support patients in understanding the impact their injury or illness has on their cognition and how to manage this and return to daily life.  

  • Provide neuropsychology input for patients at different stages of the recovery spectrum; from soon after injury/illness onset to later in their recovery journey.  

  • Work across other RMH Neuropsychology clinics/service areas as required by service demands.

  • Grade 3 candidates will provide supervision to Grade 2 and provisional psychologists.

 

About you:  

  • You are an AHPRA registered psychologist with an endorsement in or working towards endorsement in clinical neuropsychology. 

  • You place a premium on patient-centred care and evidence-based practice.

  • You have experience working in a public health setting and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

  • You have a love for cognitive rehabilitation/interventions.

  • Grade 3 Candidates will have Board Approved Supervisor Status and leadership skills.
