About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):
RMH part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Speech Pathology team in a casual capacity. The casual service at RMH provides weekend acute cover in specialist areas like medicine, trauma and ICU, as well as general cover across acute services at City Campus.
About the role:
- Join a dynamic multidisciplinary team as a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist managing an acute caseload.
- Provide comprehensive assessment and management of patients in an acute setting.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all Royal Melbourne Hospital teams.
- Build effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and relevant services to support care delivery.
- Contribute to clinical excellence, staff development, and advancement of the Speech Pathology profession.
About You
- At least 3 years’ experience working in the acute setting
- Willingness to participate in a 7-day model of care
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and in co-operation with others
- Clinical skills in comprehensive assessment, management and discharge planning
- Professional behaviour and conduct which reflects self-initiative, confidentiality, self-evaluation and commitment to professional development
- Good working knowledge of community support services
Desirable
- Tracheostomy Competency highly desirable
