Job Description: 

Grade 2 Physiotherapist – Subacute Inpatient Rehabilitation

  •  Full-time fixed-term position until August 2027, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Royal Park Campus.
  • Provide physiotherapy services, along with clinical supervision and education of students and junior physiotherapists.
  • Join a supportive team focused on supervision, career development, and access to specialist leaders.

RMH, part of the Parkville Precinct, is one of Australia’s leading public hospitals, providing a broad range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, along with rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics, and community programs.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-supported multidisciplinary team in our subacute inpatient rehabilitation ward, managing a diverse caseload. You will supervise and educate students and junior physiotherapists, and access leadership and professional development opportunities across Physiotherapy and Allied Health. Based at Royal Park campus, you will be supported by experienced Grade 3 and 4 physiotherapists.

About the role:

  • Bring your excellent clinical skills to provide high quality patient assessment to competently and independently assess, treat and manage patients in the inpatient rehabilitation setting. 
  • Contribute to the running of rehabilitation group therapy including hydrotherapy. 
  • Be involved in the supervision and education of student and junior Physiotherapists. 
  • Develop your leadership skills in organisational committees and portfolios. 
  • Contribute to our innovative research and quality improvement program. 

About you: 

  • You are an experienced Physiotherapist with broad rehabilitation skills. 
  • You have a strong ability to develop relationships with relevant team members from allied health, nursing and medical teams. 
  • You are able to be proactive and adaptable to service demands 
  • You have experience with supervision of staff and students
