Job Description: 

Grade 2 Physiotherapist – Musculoskeletal Inpatients/Outpatients

  • Fixed-term, full-time rotational Physiotherapy position based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus, Parkville, until June 2027.
  • Deliver physiotherapy services while providing clinical supervision and education to students and junior physiotherapists.

The RMH Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology Department employs more than 200 staff across the City Campus in Parkville and the Royal Park Campus. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Grade 2 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our supportive and dynamic team.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment, providing physiotherapy services to a diverse musculoskeletal patient population. You will contribute to our seven-day service model, support the supervision and education of students and junior physiotherapists, and participate in service development initiatives and weekend service provision. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your clinical skills and career within a leading tertiary health service. 

About the role:

  • Bring your excellent clinical skills to provide high quality patient assessment to competently and independently assess, treat and manage a broad range of musculoskeletal physiotherapy consumers including trauma & orthopaedic inpatients, short-stay unit, and musculoskeletal outpatient services. 
  • Foster positive team and workplace culture as a key leader across our trauma & orthopaedic inpatient, emergency department, and musculoskeletal outpatient services.
  • Demonstrate an interdisciplinary health care approach that achieves desired patient outcomes. 
  • Be involved in the supervision and education of student and junior Physiotherapists.
  • Develop your leadership skills in organisational committees and portfolios.
  • Contribute to our innovative research and quality improvement program.

About you: 

  • You are an experienced physiotherapist in orthopaedic inpatient and musculoskeletal outpatient management. 
  • You demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • You have experience and skills working autonomously in a health care setting, with high-level organisational and team leadership skills. 
  • You have experience in providing clinical education to students and leading quality improvement projects. 
  • You have a strong ability to develop relationships with relevant team members from allied health, nursing and medical teams.
