Grade 2 Occupational Therapist

Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

  • Rotational Grade 2 position in General Medical Stream.
  • Provide excellent clinical assessment and therapy for patients in general medicine.
  • Permanent full time or part time would be considered with flexible roster including occasional weekends.
  • Career progression opportunities across the organisation, supported and developed through our supervision program.
  • Opportunities to work across a wide range of caseloads including stroke and neurology, acute medical unit, general medicine units, acute care of the elderly, and medical specialties units.

 

Your New Role

  • We recently introduced a new, contemporary model for Allied Health in General Medicine to redefine care for our patients and the experience of our highly regarded team across 7 days.
  • The OT medicine stream provides clinical services to a wide range of clients who have a variety of medical conditions.  
  • Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients in the acute hospital wards
  • Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students
  • Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership
  • Enjoy a career structure which develops specialist clinical, research, education, and leadership skills for Allied Health working in General Medicine.

 

About You

  • You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative leadership style
  • You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.
  • You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist dedicated to providing evidence-based practice
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
