Grade 2 Occupational Therapist

• Full time | Fixed term until May 2027

• Opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians, senior OT leaders, and a multidisciplinary team within a dynamic acute hospital environment.

About the role

The Occupational Therapy team at RMH provides high-quality, evidence-based care across a diverse range of clinical areas. This role will primarily support our medical services, providing expert clinical assessment, intervention, and discharge planning to patients admitted across general medical and specialist medical wards.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support patients in achieving their functional goals, facilitating safe and timely discharges, and contributing to positive patient experiences. The role offers the opportunity to develop your acute clinical skills while being supported by a Grade 4 Clinical Leader, experienced senior clinicians, OT research leads, and the Occupational Therapy management team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning 
• Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students
• Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services to provide appropriate services, information and leadership
• Actively lead and participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research 

About You

You are an experienced Occupational Therapist who brings:

• Hospital experience and a collaborative approach to care
• Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
• AHPRA registration and a commitment to evidence-based practice
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to ongoing development
• A collaborative approach to working within Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary team
